What makes these pads different?

We’re a purpose-led period care brand committed to providing comfortable and eco-friendly menstrual products. We know that everyone has different needs and budgets, so we offer a wide range of ethical products to choose from. Our organic pads are a fan favorite, so we developed natural pads as an alternative option to expand our range.

Some cheaper eco-friendly pads use superabsorbent polymers (SAP) made from petroleum, which can take up to 500 years to degrade. To tackle this problem, we created our natural pads that use organic cotton and renewable woodpulp instead of SAP to offer effective leak protection. They’ll still absorb your flow naturally, but without harming the environment.💚

Each pad has wings for a secure fit to your underwear. Made without fragrance, dyes, chlorine bleach, artificial absorbents (SAP) or titanium dioxide. The sustainably-sourced fluff pulp we use is totally-chlorine free (TCF).

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these pads organic?

Our natural pads feature a 100% organic cotton topsheet (the bit that comes into contact with your body). The absorbent core is made with sustainably-sourced, renewable wood pulp fluff which is totally-chlorine free (TCF).

By using organic and biodegradable materials, all of our pads help to reduce plastic waste. If you’re looking for pads that are made with organic cotton from cover to core, you can shop our core pad range here.

Is wood pulp the same as rayon?

No, wood pulp (if sustainably and responsibly sourced) in it’s raw form is renewable, however many period care products chemically process this to create rayon or viscose – a process that is not environmentally-friendly. Furthermore, the rayon is often bleached which can also produce dioxins.

Our new pads do not contain rayon or viscose and we use woodpulp fluff that is sustainably-sourced, renewable, and totally chlorine free (TCF).

Do these pads contain artificial absorbents?

Absolutely not! We created these pads as an ethical alternative to pads which contain SAPs or superabsorbent polymers. SAPs offer a cheap and effective way to enhance absorbency, however they are mostly produced from petrochemicals and can take up to 500 years to degrade. We use organic and renewable materials in our pads to absorb your flow naturally. Our goal is to continually develop our pad range so we can cater for all different flows without the use of conventional SAP. If you’re curious if the pads you use contain SAP, you can test it out by pouring water on top of the pad. If you see a mound form or slush appear beneath the top layer, then it probably contains SAP.

Where are your products made?

All TOTM period care products are ethically-manufactured in Europe.

Are these pads carbon neutral?

Yes, all TOTM tampons, pads and liners are carbon neutral, as well as our business. We work closely with our partners at ClimatePartner to ensure that we calculate, reduce, and offset our carbon emissions.

What is your packaging made from?

We’re proud to use plastic-free packaging across the range. Our products are packed in cardboard boxes which are fully recyclable. If you’re shopping our range direct, our home delivery boxes use FSC-certified cardboard to align with our ethical sourcing policies. If, however, you’re shopping our range in-store, our boxes use recycled cardboard.

Are your pads suitable for sensitive skin?

Our pads are hypoallergenic and ideal for sensitive skin. They are designed to prevent irritation such as itching, rashing and general discomfort.

Are your products cruelty free and vegan?

All TOTM period care products are registered with The Vegan Society and carry the Vegan Trademark. The Vegan Society’s standards for the Vegan Trademark includes both no animal ingredients, and no animal testing (at the initiative of the company or on its behalf, or by parties over whom the company has effective control).
