About us:

TOTM provide a range of ethical and sustainable period care including organic cotton tampons, pads, liners and reusable menstrual cups.  As a pioneering brand, we are on a mission to change attitudes towards periods and menstrual health providing period care alternatives that are designed to be kind to the body and the environment.

We started as a D2C brand, providing period care delivered on subscription but we are now also available in selected Tesco stores across the UK & Ireland.

Current Vacancies

Backend Developer

Function: To develop and improve the function and performance of our website and fulfilment platforms
Reports to: CTO
Location: Cardiff
Compensation: £30k – £40k per annum basic salary plus discretionary bonus and pension

We are recruiting for a mid-to-senior level PHP developer as the first member of our in-house software development team, responsible for supporting and executing planned development to our website and fulfilment package. Reporting to the CTO, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated and ‘hands on’ professional. They’ll play a significant part in bringing our software development competency in-house, and in helping us shape our technical workflows, tools and standards going forward.

The company is at an early stage of its development but growing rapidly and the potential to shape and define that growth makes this an exciting opportunity.

Duties & Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist with the handover of responsibility for our internal software from an external software provider to in-house.
  • Build and deliver to code review stage new functionality and changes for the existing codebase on the website and fulfilment platform.
  • Assist with the scoping and specification of new technical solutions and deliver them to the code review stage.
  • Contribute to technical direction setting where appropriate.


Our website is based on a WordPress/WooCommerce implementation with significant bespoke development to support a customisable subscriptions module, add-ons, pauses, skips and the like. Our fulfilment software is also WordPress driven, though there is scope to change this.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help us define our technical processes, and as such will have significant input in version control and issue management systems, technical direction (led by CTO) on this and future projects and on our programming standards.

Complete flexibility is provided in terms of technical setup for the successful candidate, and as such a budget will be provided for the provision of appropriate hardware and software.
